Did you wake up with your head pounding and stomach hurting after the previous nights’ activities? Many of us enjoy an occasional drink to relax and celebrate the holiday season. But what about if you just happened to have a few TOO MANY drinks?
As a result, hangovers are a terrible side effect of imbibing in too much alcohol and using your hot tub is an excellent idea as long as you do it CORRECTLY. Through smart choices and hot tub soaking it’ll be easier than you think.
Hangovers occur from an overload of alcohol in the body. You’ve gotten to the point where your body cannot effectively filter it out. This causes extreme dehydration, a weakened immune system, headache, upset stomach, body aches and pains and much more.
Immediately, rehydrating your body should be your primary focus. Drink a couple of glasses of water or Gatorade and avoid sugary drinks.
Flush Out Alcohol Toxins
Once you have had a glass or two of fluids, take a 15-20 minute soak in your hot tub. The hot tub will help you relax, but it will also stimulate your circulation helping your body flush out toxins from the alcohol.
In addition to that, hopefully you are using Waters Choice enzyme water conditioner in your hot tub. We cannot think of anything worse than smelling chlorine and other chemicals in your water while your senses are heightened with a hangover. Not to mention the fact that the chlorine will fade out your swim clothing and dry out your skin.
As a side note: Drinking alcohol dehydrates your body, and soaking in a hot tub can as well. If you combine the two, you will quickly be in a state of extreme dehydration, so please be careful.
Once you’ve finished soaking in your hot tub, take a cold shower. Yes! As crazy as it sounds, this helps lower your body temperature. Remember! Keep hydrating yourself throughout the day. Avoid excess sugar that can worsen hangover symptoms.
Next, make sure to get food in your stomach. Although you may not feel like eating, nutrition will boost your energy. Waking up with a hangover can be an awful feeling. Furthermore, it can make your day seem excruciatingly long. But if you make good choices and PROPERLY use your hot tub, you’ll drastically reduce the irksome side effects and return back to the normal YOU.
