Tip and Tricks for Simple Swim Spa Maintenance

A SWIM Spa will enhance your well-being greatly in addition to providing a great way to excersize and relax. They can truly improve your life! Waters Choice wants everyone to have the most enjoyable time possible using their swim spa and proper water care maintenance is crucial for that. By the same token, poor water quality can ruin your spa experience and do lasting damage to your swim spa.

"We've used this for years! It simplifies our swim spa water maintenance and it's so much easier than using all the other chemicals sold for that purpose"

Tips To Keep In Mind

Waters Choice Pure Enzymes for Swim Spas are a highly concentrated formula, created to take care of the larger amount of water that swim spas will contain. Our specially formulated enzymes also take care of other issues associated with higher water temperatures.  Add one WHITE cap-ful of Pure Enzymes for SWIM Spas every other week and make sure to be CONSISTENT.

Clean Your Cover

Make sure to use a mild soap and water mixure to thoroughly clean the vinyl cover on your swim spa. Equally important, apply a protective coating to the outside of your cover to keep it moist and guard against UV damange. Check the manufacturers recommendations for a protectant to help your cover last longer.

Clean Filter

Its safe to say that by cleaning your filters once a week for the first six weeks of using Waters Choice Pure Concentrated Enzymes and then every week therafter you'll successfully make your water maintenance simple.  There is NO NEED to use filter cleaner! Simply soak the filter cartridge for about 1 hour in the following solution:

  • One cup chlorine or vinegar
  • Enough water to cover the filter
  • After said hour, rinse the filter clean (use high pressure hose if needed)

Don't forget to change your SWIM spa filter annually or whenever significant wear or damage has occurred. It's important that you set your spa filtration to a minimum of 8 hours per day for the first 6 weeks of using Waters Choice SWIM Spa Enzymes.

One More Tip ... Drain and Clean Your Spa Every Three Years

We said it! Drain and clean your swim spa every THREE YEARS! Here's the thing, most swim spas contain a lot of water. When using traditional chemicals, it's recommended that you drain your swim spa at a minimum of 1 time per year. That's a lot of work, not to mention a waste of water! When using Waters Choice SWIM Spa Enzymes, we recommend only draining your swim spa once every three to fiive years!

Clean & Drain

So, what do you do before draining your SWIM spa? We recommend using two to three tubes of Clean & Drain to purge your spa's plumbing lines and help get rid of the acumulated "gunk" that builds inside spa plumbing lines. In addition to that, when your spa acumulates "gunk" in it's lines, it becomes more difficult to balance spa water, it gets cloudy and you'll use more sanitizer than ever before. These are signs that your plumbing lines need purged.

Simplicity of Using Waters Choice Enzymes

Your swim spa water maintenance routine with our Pure Enzymes for SWIM Spas is the simplist one out there! Just add one tiny WHITE cap-ful of enzymes every other week, test and adjust pH and alkalinity, clean your filter, add a minimal amount of chlorine and that's it! This is all you need to do to take care of your water and have a long lasting, happy SWIM Spa for years to come. Together with Clean & Drain and our enzymes you'll have the perfect alliance for your health and well-being.
