Some of our customers have told us that they've been able to completely eliminate the use of chlorine with the use of our enzymes. While we appreciate hearing this, we must still recommend two teaspoons of granular sanitizer after every other use.
When using traditional chemical systems the water in your hot tub will reach a saturation point. This is where the chemicals are not dissolved as effectively.
This measure is called total dissolved solids or TDS. When TDS is high, chemicals won't work effectively or at all, leading to increased use with lower effectiveness. Hot Tub Filtration
Filter cartridges act as the kidneys of your hot tub. If filters aren't cleaned and replaced annually, the heart of your hot tub or pump, will strain to keep pumping.
Filtration time is crucial in purging impurities from your spa water. Make sure your hot tub filtration is set to a minimum of 8 hours per day for the first six weeks of implementing Waters Choice Pure Enzymes for Spas.
After the enzymes have been established, you can start decreasing your spa's filtration hours a little bit at a time. We never recommend going less than 4 hours a day.
You should clean spa filters at least once a week in the beginning, approximately 4-6 weeks. After the 1st month and a half, you can start cleaning them once every 2 weeks. Making sure your water clarity stays crystal clear.
Once enzymes are established, after 4-6 weeks, filter cleaning may diminish.
No Need for Expensive Filter Cleaners
There's no need to purchase expensive spa filter cleaners. Simply use a high pressure hose once a week to clean filters off.
If your filters have an odor or aren't as white as you'd like to see them, simply soak in 1 cup of household bleach and enough water to cover. We like to soak filters for about an hour, rinse and replace.
Many customers purchase two sets of spa filters. They'll swap them every other week to prolong their life.
