National Hot Air Balloon Day
As it just so happens and in honor of National Hot Air Balloon Day, we thought it would be worthwhile to give our readers and customers a small glimpse into Waters Choice owners, Tom and Debbie’s business adventures from years gone by.

Tom and Deb were skiing in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in early 1990.
Being the adventurous guy that he is, Tom took the opportunity to bungee jump from a hot air balloon while there. Needless to say he LOVED it!
"If it doesn't work out, you'll still have a hot air balloon"
Tom’s entrepreneurial spirit got the best of him and he quickly decided this might be a fun way to make a living.So, with this in mind and remembering the wise words from a seat-mate he’d met previously on an airplane, “If it doesn’t work out, at least you’ll have a hot air balloon!” Tom went to work figuring out what he needed to do to make this business happen.
Next, Tom immediately found a hot air balloon instructor in Tracy, CA and proceeded to take the fast track to a hot air balloon license.
Airotic Adventures Is Born!
He rounded up some venture capitalists (family members and friends) to gain enough money to purchase a hot air balloon and bungee jumping equipment. Interestingly, another avid bungee jumping friend teamed up with him and soon, Airotic Adventures was born!
Thrill Seeking Doesn't Mean Stupid
Notably, Tom may be a thrill seeker but he wasn’t stupid. He spent several weeks learning professional bungee jumping and obtained the appropriate insurance.
Unfortunately, he learned quickly that not everyone in the bungee jumping world was as professional.
Sadly, many competitors didn’t take as great of care in learning how to be responsible and safe and unfortunately people were hurt.
In addition to that, Airotic Adventure's competitors drastically undercut Tom's price andhe soon learned that he wasn’t going to become a millionaire and retire to the Bahamas before he turned 25 (DANG!).
All things considered, that was the end of Airotic Adventures.
BUT, Tom still has a beautiful balloon and a GREAT story!
