PURGE my Hot Tub or Swim Spa? What?

“I’m having a hard time maintaining the correct balance in my hot tub water, help!”

When clients call, we can help. One of the first questions we at Waters Choice will ask is if they have ever purged their hot tub or swim spa. This is when we hear the statement, “PURGE my spa? What in the world is that?”

Purging Spa Plumbing is Beneficial

Believe it or not, purging hot tub or swim spa plumbing lines is VERY beneficial to helping maintain its correct water balance.  You’d be amazed at how many spa owners have never heard of this. Consequently, owners struggle with the correct water balance and it can be extremely frustrating!

Gunk Happens  Waters Choice spa purge helps get the gunk out of plumbing lines.

So, what happens to the plumbing lines in a hot tub when they’re never purged?  Gunk.  Yes, GUNK happens.  As a result, bacteria, hard water, scum, and chemical BUILDUP sit in your plumbing lines and create havok with your water chemistry.

Waters Choice Clean & Drain  Don't forget to wipe down walls of the hot tub or swim spa as it drains.

We’ve found that it’s not often you’ll hear about this chemical buildup, but if you’re using what we call traditional chemicals you WILL get that gross GUNK in your lines.

With that said, Waters Choice has a purge product called Clean & Drain.  This little tube packs quite a big punch and is phenomenal in your battle with gunk.  Check out a quick video where our customer uses our purge product and it’s result.  You’ll be amazed!

“My hot tub/swim spa is brand new.  Do I need to use Clean & Drain?”  Absolutely. Whether your spa is using a salt cell chlorine generator or traditional chemicals, you should be using a tube of Clean & Drain EACH time you drain and refill.

Trust Waters Choice

We’ve spent years doing our research bringing our Clean & Drain purge product to you.  We’ve tested other purge products against our own and have never been able to find something that could out perform ours.  It’s the strongest, fastest and easiest to use.

Traditional Chemicals VS Waters Choice Enzymes

Traditional chemicals will require that you drain your spa two to four times a year.  However, a spa treated with Waters Choice enzymes only needs to be cleaned and drained 1 time per year.

Swim Spa

If you’re cleaning a swim spa that’s using Waters Choice enzymes, you’ll need to clean and drain it every 3-5 versus draining every year using traditional chemicals.

It’s interesting to note that swim spas hold a much larger amount of water and have extremely long plumbing lines that require 2-3 tubes of Waters Choice Clean & Drain to ensure a successful purge.

Stop Water Problems Before They Start

One more thing, our customer service department often hears the question, “Should I still drain my spa even if the water looks great?”  The answer is simple, stop water problems before they start.  Use Clean & Drain every time you drain your spa to ensure crystal clear water every time.
