Waters Choice ENZYMES are like vitamins for your spa water. They allow you to drastically reduce the use of harsh chemicals.

As a matter of fact, some of our customers have told us they’ve been able to completely eliminate the use of chlorine with the use of our enzymes.

However, when using traditional chemicals, the water in your hot tub will reach a saturation point where the chemicals aren’t dissolved as effectively.

This measure is called total dissolved solids or TDS. Unfortunately when TDS is high, chemicals will not work effectively or at all, leading to increased use with lower effectiveness.

That’s why when using traditional chemicals, water must be changed every three months.

We have GREAT news for you! When using Waters Choice enzymes, we recommend only changing your water once a year.

Hot Tub Maintenance #2 – Filtration

Filter cartridges are like the kidneys of your hot tub.If they are not cleaned and replaced annually, the hot tub’s heart or pumps, will strain to keep pumping.

Not to mention, your spa water will struggle to stay clean.

Filtration TIME is crucial in purging impurities from your spa water.Make sure your hot tub filtration is set to a minimum of 8 hours a day for the first six weeks of implementing Waters Choice enzymes.

After the enzymes have been established, you can start decreasing your filtration hours a little bit at a time.

We never recommend going less than 4 hours per day.

In light of this, you should clean filters at least once a week in the beginning, approximately 4-6 weeks.

After the 1st month and a half, you can start cleaning them once every two weeks, as long as your water clarity stays crystal clear.

Once enzymes are established, after 4-6 weeks, filter cleaning may diminish completely.

There’s no need to buy expensive filter cleaners.Just use a high pressure hose once a week to clean them off.Furthermore, if your filters ever have an odor or don’t come back to white after high pressure hose cleaning you can do the following:soak filter/filters in 1 cup of bleach and enough water to cover them.In our opinion, you should soak for one hour, then rinse and replace.

We find that many customers purchase two sets of filters; swapping them every other week to prolong the cartridge’s life. It’s important to remember that filters do degrade over time and typically should be replaced every 12 months.

Hot Tub Maintenance #3 – Equipment

With a traditional chemical system, spa equipment can wear out quickly and become corroded.

Waters Choice enzymes actually increase the efficiency and longevity of your spa equipment because chemicals are dramatically reduced and in some instances actually eliminated completely.

Waters Choice enzymes allow you to spend less time maintaining your spa and more time enjoying it!
